Editorial food photography for Petrukha’s BBQ chicken line — a series built around the visual language of live-fire cooking: grill marks,
caramelised skin, smoke, and the kind of char that signals
real heat rather than studio approximation.
The series covers three distinct product scenarios: whole
BBQ chicken, grilled sausages, and chicken with peach —
each requiring a different approach to surface texture,
sauce density, and garnish. Meat photography at this level
is largely a timing and temperature problem: the window
between undercooked and overcooked on set is narrow,
and the Maillard reaction that makes skin look appetising
on camera does not wait for lighting adjustments.
The images were produced for brand content and editorial use
across digital platforms and publications, with the visual approach
leaning toward honest product representation — what the BBQ chicken actually looks like when it’s done right, without artificial enhancement.
