Recipe photography for a diet app is a different brief from editorial or restaurant work. The food has to look good — but it also has to be honest. MyNetDiary users are tracking calories, which means every image needs to accurately represent a real single serving. Overstyled or oversized portions would undermine the product’s core promise.
The shoot covered a wide range of dishes across multiple diet categories. Consistent lighting and neutral backgrounds kept the visual system coherent across all images while allowing each dish its own character. Portion accuracy was managed in close collaboration with the food stylist at every stage.
The resulting library serves the app’s recipe sections, landing pages, editorial content, and social media — all from a single shoot.
